This beautiful Ptolemaic temple dedicated to the Goddess of Love, Hathor, is only a short drive from Luxor. Here there are striking bas-reliefs of Cleopatra and her son Caesarion, the only temple in Egypt to portray this famous queen and her son. Denderah is also the only temple in Egypt where the roof is accessible, to enable you to enjoy a view of the area.

About a kilometre and a half from the Valley of the Kings is the Valley of the Queens which today is called «Biban el-Harim».
