For centuries, Luxor was the noblest residence and most powerful city of the ancient world. Like all cities of ancient Egypt, Thebes was divided into the realm of the dead on the West Bank and the realm of the living on the East Bank. On this Cairo to Luxor day tour, you’ll visit both.
We start early in the morning, picking you up from your hotel in Cairo for your flight to Luxor. On arrival, your private Egyptologist guide will begin your tour with the Valley of the Kings, home to 64 rock-cut tombs — you’ll be able to choose three to visit. From there, we continue to the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and finish the West Bank portion at the Colossi of Memnon. After a break for lunch, we cross to the East Bank to visit Karnak Temple, the largest temple complex in Egypt, famous for its stunning Hypostyle Hall. From Karnak, you’ll be transferred to Luxor Airport for your flight back to Cairo, and then to your hotel in Cairo or Giza.
